CHARACTER LEADS:

ANTHONY: Male, Tenor, mid 20’s to early 30’s – Anthony loves Christmas and loves music. He aspires to become a successful songwriter and musician. In this pursuit, he’s confronted with needing to make a choice that would affect his lifelong dream and his newfound love.

JULIE: Female, Alto/Soprano, mid 20’s to early 30’s – Julie takes pleasure in the simple things life has to offer. She is kind, nurturing, and hopes to one day become a nurse, get married, and raise a family. Although she admires Anthony’s passion for music, she worries that he may end up making too many sacrifices to get what he wants.

GRANDMA: Female, Alto, mid 40’s and older – Not a sweet old lady like most grandmothers, she’s says exactly what’s on her mind. Although opinionated and stubborn at times, she’s got a sweet spot for Christmas. She takes a special liking to Anthony and teaches him music despite how it brings back feelings of regret and longing for a life she could’ve had.

KEN: Male, Baritone, mid/late 20’s to mid/late 30’s – Overly ambitious with a singular work-ethic, Ken tries to break into the music business as an agent to up and coming writers/performers. He believes in Anthony the most and considers him a close friend. But when he sees Anthony straying from his musical pursuits, Ken makes one last ditch effort to get him back on track.

TINA: Female, Alto/Soprano, mid/late 20’s to mid/late 30’s – Tina is a tough-as-nails, no-holds-barred, tell-it-like-it-is record company rep and producer. She keeps Ken on his toes and pushes him to bring her music she can sell, regardless of what it sounds like.

MOM: Female, Alto, mid/late 20’s to mid/late 30’s – Anthony’s mother and Grandma’s daughter. She is a softer, gentler version of Grandma.

DAD: Male, Baritone, mid/late 20’s to mid/late 30’s – Anthony’s father. He’s funny and uses his humor to help fend off the sharp-witted attacks by his mother-in-law.
